The Mickey McKenna Festival

Celebrating the life and music of Mickey McKenna - fine musician, teacher and founding member of the Tallafornian Mandolin Band.

The festival celebrates Mickey’s life and music with school sessions, workshops in Trim Library and performances by national and international musicians, kindly sponsored by Meath County Council.

The 2019 celebration in Trim Library featured an evening concert with Terry Woods - of Sweeney’s Men, Steeleye Span, The Woods Band and The Pogues - alongside Seán Garvey, TG4 Traditional Singer of the Year. An afternoon family concert welcomed children of all ages with Niamh Ní Bheoláin, Jimmy Kelly, Liam Kennedy and Kevin Ward. All performances were free of charge.
